Trevin is part of Baker Newby’s solicitor’s department, acting primarily for businesses and business people by providing practical legal advice in a variety of areas.
Acting for business and business owners give Trevin the opportunity to learn about and appreciate how different businesses operate and the different issues they face, and what Trevin enjoys most is the opportunity to be part of a client’s “team”, providing advice and assistance whenever possible to help their business be successful.
Born in Prince George, Trevin grew up in Castlegar before receiving his Juris Doctorate from the University of British Columbia Law School in 1988. After practising with a larger firm in Vancouver, Trevin joined Baker Newby in 1992 and became a partner in 1995. Trevin is also actively involved in the overall management of Baker Newby, having joined Baker Newby’s management team in 2005.
Trevin also appreciates that the tremendous success of Baker Newby is in large part due to the great communities and clients whom we serve, and accordingly enjoys giving back to those communities. In addition to his involvement in a number of charitable and non-profit organizations, Trevin has coached youth basketball at a variety of levels, and prior to COVID-19 was the assistant coach of the Sardis Secondary senior boys’ basketball team.
When not working or volunteering, Trevin still enjoys playing basketball as much as possible (pre-pandemic, anyway), and of course watching his three children grow into fine young adults. Except the one who became a lawyer of course – so disappointing …
