Benjamin is an enthusiastic member of Baker Newby’s commercial litigation and family law practice groups with a passion for solving his clients’ varied legal needs through a personal and practical approach.
Benjamin understands that litigation is a challenging and complicated process requiring clear and reasoned decisions based on sound and accurate legal advice. When people are not under pressure they make better decisions and better decisions lead to better outcomes. Teamwork within a law firm is essential to achieving those better outcomes because no one lawyer knows as much as an entire firm of lawyers and a client who has a firm of lawyers at their disposal will be that much better off than a client who just has a single lawyer.
After spending parts of his childhood in Ontario and northern California, Benjamin has lived in Abbotsford since early 2001. He graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in 2012 and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba in 2016. Following law school, Benjamin completed his articles at Baker Newby LLP and joined the Firm as an Associate upon his call to the bar in 2017.
Outside of the office, Benjamin is a Director for the Chilliwack Hospice Society and a board member for Archway Community Services in Abbotsford. When he’s not working or volunteering, Benjamin is most likely reading or spending time with his wife, Mary.
