COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has obviously become a global issue, affecting individuals and businesses alike everywhere, and like you we are monitoring the quickly changing landscape to determine how best to deal with the situation (taking to heart the old adage “Hope for the best but prepare for the worst!”).

While our primary goal is of course the health and safety of our staff and clients, we also recognize the importance of ensuring that our clients continue to receive the legal services they require. Accordingly our office continues to remain open, and we have implemented contingency plans for both lawyers and staff to, if necessary, work remotely to continue to provide such services to the best of our abilities in the circumstances.

In the meantime, while we have implemented proactive measures within our offices to minimize the potential risk of this virus, we certainly understand the uniqueness of this situation and the concerns clients may have. Accordingly if you are not comfortable attending our offices for any reason please note the following:

• It may be possible to deal with your matter by way of a phone call instead;
• Certain documents (although not all) may be able to be signed and returned electronically; and
• If your matter is not time sensitive, we will be happy to reschedule your appointment to a later date.

In addition, please note that in accordance with current government guidelines, if you have been anywhere outside of Canada recently (including the United States) you should be self-isolating and we would therefore respectfully request that you not attend at our offices. If this applies to you, please call us to discuss other options.

Due to the rapidly evolving nature of this situation, we will continue to actively monitor changes and will provide updates as required.
